In this episode of Ultra Rare Life, Dan Caro shares his courageous story of overcoming. At the age of two, he was engulfed in flames during a gasoline explosion in the family garage which left third-degree burns over 80% of his body and lost both of his hands.
His family was told he wouldn’t survive more than a few days. But God had other plans. Even though his heart stopped several times, Dan’s spirit wasn’t ready to give up; somehow he knew he had work to do. Despite the odds, Dan survived, but life would not be easy.
Dan share’s his secrets of how he overcame years of painful surgeries, endless months of lonely isolation in burn units, social rejection, being shunned and called a “monster” by children and adults. He set life goals that people told him he’d never be able to accomplish, but he far exceeded anyone’s expectations.
Now as one of the most accomplished drummers in New Orleans, Dan’s drumming and inspirational speaking have inspired millions around the world. The man who was once shunned and called “monster” by his neighbors, is today in high demand for his innovative and inspirational performances.
