Blessing for this week’s episode:
See the light
I know this road is gettin' hard
I heard you say it's overwhelming
I said I'd never be too far
And I meant that from the heart
I see the mountain gettin' higher
I see it stackin' up against you
I always said you were a fighter
But you've got your doubts tonight
But I'm here to remind you
It don't matter where you come from
I know we can get through this
It might feel it's been so long
But we keep on keepin' on
It might feel like an uphill climb
Always some kind of battle
But you got more than you on your side
And we gon' see the light
Some things will never be the same
Some things are only for a season
And just the thought of letting go
Well, it's brought you to your knees
Oh, but if you can make it, you can make it through the ni-ight
I can promise that the sun is gonna ri-ise
You wake up just a little bit stronger
So hold on just a little bit longer
'Cause it don't matter where you come from
I know we can get through this (ooh)
It might feel like it's been so long
But we keep on keepin' on
It might feel like an uphill climb
Always some kind of battle (battle)
But you got more than you on your side
And we gon' see the light
You and me, yeah, you and me
We gon' see the light
In Jesus name, Amen.
This blessing courtesy of lyrics from the song See the Light by TobyMac

Heather recommended:as
*A White Christmas as her favorite Christmas movie with great teachable moments.
*The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho (who is Brazilian as Heather thought).
Research after my potential gaffe (this depends on your view): the word “tribe” comes from the Latin word “tribus.” Its history is long from Ancient Rome, biblical texts, and in more recent times, to particular groups of people in Africa and to Native Americans. While in modern times it is sometimes used to describe a close group of friends or teams in the corporate world. After reading up on this it’s become more clear it is considered a word that some consider racially insensitive. And so I’ve been schooled. Thanks, internet. Intention is important and so is awareness.

Val shared these things:
The movie It’s a Wonderful Life (George and Mary Bailey being her favorite fictional couple of all time).
The John Irving book A Prayer for Owen Meany and the impact it had on her.

Yes, Bridgid’s voice is soft and low in the beginning especially. It gets better as the episode goes on. Thanks for your patience while we all learn these new things and do the best we can while recording remotely. Good news! Oscar, the Sound Designer and I are having a virtual meeting today and he’s going to teach me some things. Yay!
Bridgid recommended the book An Unfinished Marriage by Joan Anderson.
