At the beginning of this season, I said and planned for 10 episodes just to get my feet wet but with this quarantine still in place for most of us; I figured why not extend the season. So Trese Speaks is something I do on my IG page to discuss random topics. I'll be discussing everything from Trump to Little Fires Everywhere in this episode, so buckle up and enjoy a glimpse into my mind!

This week is black maternal health week. In addition to that, Dr. Fauci has let people know that blacks are more likely to die from Covid-19 than their white counterparts which made America say... "OMG there are still health disparities?". Yep, and we are going to unpack that today!

April is Cesarean Awareness Month which is aimed at reducing the number of elective c-sections, educate about the risks, recovery and the possibility of VBAC's (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) for consecutive pregnancies. I wanted to share my story and why we need to cut the crap with the negative stigma associated with c-sections.

I do believe some people are thriving during this quarantine, getting their lives together, learning new tricks and tips, writing that book, excelling at personal goals; but that aint everybody.

The real is, most people are struggling either with finances, children, relationships or just dealing with their own anxiety & fear about possibly getting sick. I wanted to take a few minutes on this bonus episode and address some of the things I see, how I feel and why laughter is always my go to medicine.

Cannabis, the product you either love or hate, is considered essential medicine and dispensaries are considered essential business during this COVID 19 quarantine! We are discussing why I got into the cannabis business, the #kushchallenge, black women and de-stimatizing cannabis use and I have a special guest, AJ McCreary, who is not only a proud cannamom but is raising an incredible son while creating her own lane!

As we kick off Women's History Month, it made me want to reflect on my journey to womanhood. While there is so much to touch on as it pertains to the journey, I wanted to talk about some of the key points and shifts that made me start walking in purpose and self awareness. Enjoy!

Historically, we have been given a little something to appease us and we find comfort in it. It passifies us for the moment. Why are we happy with Black History only being highlighted during February, why not mandate this as part of secondary education for all students?
