I was so fuckin' pumped that Ethan accepted our invitation to come onto the podcast.

Let me explain how Ethan and I met.

So our mutual friend Kerri (who also manages my podcast!! ily) had a birthday party that Ethan was at. we met, and instantly we started talking business. He had just launched this fragrance brand Elsewhere and he gave me these little wax samples of his candles for me to smell. He explained how each scent works and the imagery that comes with it.. I was HOOKED.

I loved his confidence behind his brand and I loved the way he sold it to me. I'm a sucker for a good story - and that's what he does with his fragrances. he tells a story.

Just because something didn't work for someone doesn't mean it won't work for you. We have GOT to get a grip on our emotional maturity.

you know how much shit is going to happen to you in your life that "isn't fair"? does it give you the right to slander a company just because of your experience? while I understand "warning" people or even just telling your story, but remember to have it come from a place of LOGIC rather EMOTION.

you're allowed to feel the way you feel - but to tear others down just really broadcasts the lack of emotional maturity.

I used to hate Julie Smith (@thathairmagic) and I invited her to be on my podcast.I hated Julie because she was something I wasn't. She had things I didn't. So instead of asking her how she did it, I used it against her and formed a jealousy based dislike all because of my own ego. It wasn't because I thought her work was better than mine, or that I thought she was a better artist in general, it was quite literally because she got something I didn't.. how fucking silly is that?after checking my ego and getting out of my own way, I grew out of that mentality and started to realize the people I hated were the people I actually needed in my corner, so I reached out and asked if she would be on my podcast. She accepted and flew out to me on her own account! I was SHOOK. She had NO idea that I used to feel this way about her. She came out here because she wanted to make a friend and speak her truth on a podcast, as simple as that.We met. I told her. We laughed. We teared up. We celebrated each other. We created core memories. I would 100% consider her a homie and someone I could call on and count on - even though I used to hate her.
