Uncanny America

While most people are familiar with the Illinois we see in the bright lights of Chicago, the southern part of the state has a more cryptic allure. In the swamplands north of Harrisonburg there are stories of a lumbering creature that makes its way through the Tuttle Bottoms that has been sighted nearly thirty times since the 1960s.  In nearby Enfield, a strange three-legged monster caused panic, leading to armed monster-hunting parties roaming along the railway tracks looking for their shot. Tonight on Uncanny America, we take a look at the strange cryptids of southern Illinois.

Late-night drives, Pokémon GO, and grainy video at first glance don't seem to go together. But they do when it comes to one of Ohio's most famous cryptids. From an early potential sighting in 1882 to the most well-documented 1972 encounters, this cryptid would once again capture the attention of the world in 2016 when two Pokémon GO players went in search of Pikachu and found something entirely different. New York City is no stranger to the strange and the weird. But it's another thing altogether for the small town of Montauk.
