One of Salisbury’s most beloved traditions is returning. The 2021 Cheerwine Festival was just announced for September 18th in the town’s historic downtown. Grammy-nominated band Spin Doctors will headline the entertainment for the festival which runs from noon to 10 pm. On June 28, 2020, A Rowan County commissioner was arrested Sunday for driving while impaired, according to the Salisbury Police Department. Craig Pierce, 65, is accused of driving with a blood alcohol content more than three times the legal limit, according to an arrest report. Recently, Politico interviewed several Republican lawmakers, who of course all chose to remain nameless. But Politico says that these were Trump supporting lawmakers (who still are Trump supporting lawmakers to this day). Each one of them said that they do not want Donald Trump to be the Republican party’s nominee in 2024. In fact, they don’t want Trump to run for president ever again.
