Unconventional Flicks

Gavin and Jacob pay their respects to the late Val Kilmer by recapping and reviewing the 1985 Kilmer-led college comedy, Real Genius.

Thank you all for the love and support so far as we continue to grow, and tune in for next week's episode on the Fred Durst, 2024 apocalypse horror comedy Y2K. Streaming on MAX for any of you that want to watch along!

Sorry for the delay! Crazy times are upon us here at UW, however we will not be letting this be a reoccurring issue.

This week we bring you Gavin's favorite movie ever (probably but not for certain)! The Evil Dead franchise is very important to not only the horror genre, but to film making as a whole, so it was very easy for the boys to enjoy this film.

As always, thank you for your support and please keep interacting as much as you can! Feel free to comment movie suggestions for the boys to watch and review, the more UNCONVENTIONAL the better! (Get it?)

Gavin and Jacob went on a little movie date this week to go see the Jack Quaid led film, Novocaine! Painful, disgusting, and hilarious antics ensue on this week's episode of UNCONVENTIONAL FLICKS!!!!

Keep an eye out on our socials to see what film we are doing next week to watch along!

P.S.

Gavin here, I know I yawned at some point during this episode, it is 1AM and I still cannot find the section or timestamp that the yawn occurred, please bare with us and don't attack me. Sometimes I get sleepy okay?! Love you all, have a great week.

Gavin brings Jacob back for a... topical film this week as they discuss Quentin Tarantino's 2009 film, Inglourious Basterds.

Check out the boys' Letterboxd accounts to see their written thoughts, and be sure to leave a review and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Next week's film will be wither Novocaine (2025) or Battle Royale (2000). Check our socials this week for the update!

Oh boy...

Gavin brings in Jacob for a little throwback to a movie from his childhood. And boy was that a mistake! Gavin is a fan of author Darren Shan's work. But this movie has brought the boys to their limits!

Gavin brings Jacob back for another episode, but changes the vibe up with a drama instead of a horror film!

The guys discuss Zach Braff's 2004 film "Garden State" and share their thoughts on the upcoming 20th anniversary charity concert with bands from the film's soundtrack.

This is one of Gavin's favorite films ever and part of our new idea "Letterboxd Picks" in which everyone will bring one of their Letterboxd 4 films to the pod to watch and discuss.

Next week will be a surprise film, so stay tuned!

Gavin brings Jacob back to discuss Osgood Perkins' new film that adapts a Stephen King short story of the same title!

Next week we will be discussing the 2004 Zach Braff directed film, "Garden State"! It is available on Hulu at time of posting this so feel free to watch along and share your feelings with us on social media and in the comments.
