This is the first of many shows I'll be doing for the project we are now calling Veterans in Craft (ViC)! Music: Juice - Keep It Moving

  • David Wondrich

Our special guest is cocktail historian, Esquire columnist, and JBA-winning author, David Wondrich (pronounced: WondRICH, not WondRICK.... as per usual, ignore the way I pronounce Wondrich through Dave's entire show). Our guest hosts are: Greg Best, Rick Dobbs, Jeremiah Jason Blake and Dan Dunn!

Hands down, I am the worst at pronounciation...

  • The Alchemist

Our guests are Jen and John Kimmich of The Alchemist in Waterbury, Vermont. NOTE: you're a d-bag if you don't recycle, call John Kimmich up asking for his recipe for Heady Topper and/or call Cori out for every incorrect thing she said during this show.
Rough start on this one.... Corrections: Producer Tyler, not Producer Matt. The Alchemist is located in Waterbury, not Hardwick. Waterbury, Vermont is 2.5-3 HOURS outside of Boston, not 3 minutes! :::FACEPALM::: I've been a bit discombobulated since Matt's exit (compounded by some really cool UMH-related stuff that I can't share just yet), but I am pretty sure I've found my groove with my new guys now... Uh, I hope! More importantly, the Kimmichs are completely lovely and their Heady Topper is as good as everyone says it is! C.

  • Bitter End Bitters & Sorel Liqueur

Our guests are Sorel Liqueur founder, Jackie Summers, and Bill York, founder of Bitter End Bitters. We get a brief history on the guys, learn a bit about their companies, and find out how to successfully incorporate their products into cocktails or how to enjoy them alone - in Sorel's case. I'm not sure we fully understand how to work with bitters yet, but, after this show, we're less clueless than we were before. Our guest host is Warren Bobrow.

  • Against The Grain Brewery

Against the Grain co-founders, Jerry Gnagy and Sam Cruz, keep us in stitches this entire show. Between tears of laughter we drink AtG offerings, talk about past, present & future brews and what you should never expect from Against the Grain in the future. Our guest host is director, writer and producer of the craft beer documentary Crafting A Nation, Tom Kolicko.

  • Half Acre Beer Company

While we taste and talk about some of Half Acre's canned offerings, Gabriel Magliaro (founder of Half Acre Beer Company) tells us about Half Acre's start, their recent brewery expansion - including a beautiful new taproom and, of course, our favorite, collaborations. Our guest hosts include: Drew Fox of 18th Street Brewery and Justin Maynard of the Illinois Craft Brewer's Guild.
Note: after several beers into waiting for our super-duper, unfashionable late, guest host, we began recording. This may explain the awkward beginning.... (Sorry, Justin, had to get that last one in!)
