Under The Abbey Stand

This week's preview show looks ahead to Burton Albion at home as we welcome the Brewers to the Abbey. Jules and Matt discuss injuries, Lee McEvilly, and (for some reason) getting poked in the eye at Dartford away.

We're delighted to be launching a brand new feature here at UTAS: The Monthly Mailbag. This is an opportunity for the panellists to answer questions not just about the current team, the game just been and the game coming up. But take a step back and look at the broader picture at the U's, answering both silly and serious listener questions.

This week, Tom, Jules and Jordan discuss the Habbin redevelopment, best debuts, and their favourite and least favourite away days.

The biggest challenge of the season yet for the UTAS boys as they are tasked with trying to get half an hour of content out of a 0-0 draw down in Exeter. Jord, Tom and Jules discuss a good point on a bitesize pod, what more do you want on a Monday morning?

The game might be up in the balance, but that can't stop the preview show. Matt and Jordan are on this week's show chatting about a trip down to Devon where the U's never seem to win, after a week of freezing cold temperatures... what could possibly go wrong?

Jordan Worland is at the helm this week and is joined by Tom Walker and Jack Swindlehurst to look back at a last-gasp win against Fleetwood Town, including plenty of optimistic forwards chat, a great debut and a bit of a sitter...

For the third time this season, the U's face Fleetwood this weekend, with a third man in the dugout. Tom and Jordan have a chat about what might well be a six pointer, and obviously address the elephant in the room: the lack of a striker so far this transfer window. They also welcome friend of the pod Knappers to get a preview of this weekend's opponents.

A valiant effort from the U's, but the quality told in the end as Blackburn ran out 5-2 winners at Ewood Park in the FA Cup Third Round. On this episode of UTAS, Tom and Matt get together have a chat about how many goals they missed and run through all the talking points from the game.

FA Cup fever hasn't quite caught on this weekend as an injury-depleted U's without a recognised striker get ready to head to the North West to face a seemingly equally unenthusiastic Blackburn side. Maybe we're in for a classic. Tom and Jules take a look ahead to that game, with the help of Dan from Rovers Chat, as well as looking back at the floodlight failure at Stevenage, and the hangovers in the defeat against Leyton Orient.

You asked, we listened. Okay maybe no one asked, but the UTAS Christmas Quiz is back for 23/24! Master of ceremonies and king of the quiz Lewis Jones puts the boys through their paces as they get quizzed on everything from Japanese football and  pickled onions to Port Vale and Wham.

Thanks for your support this year, here's to another year of semi-serious Cambridge United based football content. Merry Christmas!
