Under The Abbey Stand

First game of the season, first point of the season, and big Joey Ironside's first goal of the season. And all in front of a packed Abbey for the first time in over 18 months. It all made for a very positive opening day for the U's, and Jack Swindlehurst, Jordan Worland and Tom Walker got together to discuss it all.

In last season's preview, the smart minds at UTAS HQ boldly predicted you'd never get promoted with Greg Taylor. This year, as Greg prepares to lead us into our first League One campaign in twenty years, we get back together to discuss our predictions for this season alongside a few special guests.

Find out what Jordan Worland, Tom Walker and Julian Roberts think is good and bad about the United squad and what lies ahead in a League One packed with quality.

It's been a busy pre-season at the Abbey Stadium so let Jordan Worland, Tom Walker and Owen Kiernan guide you through the ins & outs of the playing squad, as well as their thoughts on the new shirt.

In part one (0:00) we look at those players who've joined Mark Bonner's Amber Army, and in part two (36:30) we bid a fond farewell to a number of last years promotion squad and discuss where we'd like to strengthen the squad. Part three (1:03:42) sees some discussion of our controversial new home shirt, and we end with a tribute to a real club legend: Harrison Dunk, who's testimonial takes place on Tuesday 27 July.

Cambridge United are promoted to League One. The UTAS boys are finally recovered from their hangovers and get together to relive the big day from start to finish; from morning nerves to an evening... tattoo. You won't see anything quite so positive, so drink it in.

We're almost there... Another two huge wins for the U's, and another podcast brimming with positivity. Regulars Owen Kiernan, Jordan Worland, Tom Walker and Julian Roberts talk through the Newport County and Leyton Orient wins, featuring a special appearance from one of the lucky few who saw the 4-2 win in East London in person, Max Rushden.

There's also a look to Stevenage at the weekend and the debut of a new game. Get in touch with your questions:

Jack Swindlehurst is in the hot seat this week as he questions regulars Jordan Worland, Tom Walker and Owen Kiernan on the first of a special series of podcasts looking at Cambridge United's run-in this season. Up for discussion are our games against Morecambe and Tranmere over Easter, plus Saturday's heavy defeat to Exeter. We also wonder just how many top agents are watching Jubril Okedina.

Spirits are high this week as the UTAS boys get together to chat promotion, promotion, and promotion. There's heated discussion on which bits of the Abbey would be renamed if we had it our way, why Greg Taylor has been brilliant this season, and we ponder whether Paul Mullin is really Luis Suarez. Oh and, you guessed it, some more Wes Hoolahan loving.

Promotion's on our minds, and it's been a few weeks of nerve-shredding action for U's fans to at least TRY and enjoy. To chat all that plus sharks and celebrations, Jordan Worland, Tom Walker and Owen Kiernan are put through their paces by host Julian Roberts, in another episode of Cambridge United's premiere podcast. Oh, and obviously some Mullin and Wes too.

The positivity just doesn't stop at UTAS HQ. Fresh off the back of a 3-0 away battering of Mansfield, the boys get together to chat about recent form, upcoming challenges, and the potential legacy of 'SIR' Mark Bonner.
