The fixtures just get bigger and bigger, so big you’ll need a thesaurus by the time Notts County and Bromley roll around. Next up: Salford City, having lost five on the bounce after a big-spending January, they’re now looking to make it five wins on the spin as they’ve got themselves right back in the automatic promotion hunt. Tom and Jules look ahead to that game, as well as looking back at a 0-0 stalemate on Tuesday night at Walsall.

The reviews are in: it’s five stars for United in a thoroughly dominant performance, on a day where the top three won but the other two in the hunt lost, allowing a tiny bit of breathing room – for now at least. Jord, Matt and Swindle are on the panel, chatting about all the goals and looking ahead to a tough trip to Walsall on Tuesday.

After two draws on the bounce, it’s a presentable home fixture against Gareth Ainsworth’s Gillingham next, who roll into town fresh off a 5-1 hammering on Tuesday against our promotion rivals MK Dons. Matt and Swindle are on preview duties, joined by Gills in the Blood for a deeper look into what to expect from our opposition. There’s also a teaser of our Ben Knight interview, which you can listen to in full as a Coconut Tier member.

Fresh off their big efforts in the half marathon, there’s nothing Matt and Tom will want to be doing more than discussing a tough afternoon in the North West. United themselves huffed and puffed in search of an equaliser and then a winner, but could only find the latter on an afternoon where no one in the top 5 lost.

It’s a visit up to Accrington next up for the U’s as they look to put any thought of that last-minute penalty behind them and keep racking up to the points at the top end of the table. On a day that could see a lot of moving around in the top 5, can the U’s hold their nerve? Aside from some half-marathon training chat with Josh Coulson, Jules and Caspell were on preview pod duties to look ahead to the game, joined by Tony from Across The Pitch for an opposition preview.

United were 2 minutes away from a massive three points on Saturday, but a late penalty denied them a win that would have kept them two points from top and put a five point gap between themselves and Milton Keynes. It can be a cruel game, but there’s still plenty of positives to take. Tom, Jules and Swindle are on the review show to look through them and chat about the half marathon prep, which is now less then a walk away.

The biggest game of the season so far is on the horizon. It’s 2nd vs 3rd as Milton Keynes FC visit the Abbey. Big games require big players, and Tom and Jord have answered the call. They’re joined by Liam from the MK1 Podcast to get a view from the opposition, and we’ve got a special interview with Natasha from the CUFC Foundation to get a bit of an insight into the great cause that the UTAS boys are running the Cambridge Half for.

Three more points added onto the tally, and on an afternoon where only one other team in the top 7 won, it was an excellent day’s work for United. Matt and Jules are on the pod to chat Bennett’s bullet header, some keeper errors, and the unstoppable bullishness.

God with a perm. For many fans, it’s as simple as that. Lionel Perez is one of the iconic figures at Cambridge United, a legendary goalkeeper who has left such a lasting impression for so many fans who got the pleasure of watching him at the Abbey. From an initial loan spell to help United stay up, to an unforgettable penalty against Tranmere in his las…
Another Tuesday night game, but this time no three points. The U’s of Colchester came to the Abbey and impressed, holding the U’s of Cambridge to a 1-1 draw. Tom and Jordan discuss the point on Tuesday, and preview a trip to bottom of the league Newport on Saturday with the help of Jamie from the 1912 podcast, alongside the week’s other talking points from CB5.
