Under The Radar SFF Podcast

Honored to be joined on my podcast by Sci-fi fantasy author Sarena Straus. Author of Reinception; a dystopian Sci-fi novel dealing with the unintended consequences of mind and habit altering technology on society. Sarena is also a lawyer by practice which had a big influence on the writing and construction of this novel. I hope you all enjoy it!

It is with great pleasure that I get to share with everyone the history of Athera and can serve as an introduction to The Wars of Light and Shadow series by Janny Wurts. This has been a labor of love for me as Janny and I spent many hours discussing the history of this world and how to apply in for the listening audience. If you are a fan of Janny Wurst, this episode is for you. If you heard of Janny's series and you are curious then this is for you. The main series will not be spoiled in this episode but some world building aspects and history of the world which would be seen in the main series overtime are talked about so fair warning if you wish to turn away. I hope you all enjoy it!

Please to be joined by fantasy author Kian Ardalan. Here we discuss Kian's grimdark epic Eleventh Cycle and how this massive project became a reality. We also discuss his writing style and go off on a tangent with discussing Mark Lawrence. I hope you enjoy this episode!

I am please to be joined by Sci-fi/fantasy author Ken Scholes as we do a deep dive into his 5 book series The Psalms of Isaak.  Described as a biblical epic in a destructive land filled with magical objects, cults, robots, and a secret past for all to discover.  The first half of the episode is non-spoliers and around the half way point we do get into the spoiler discusions with clear warnings for listerns.  A series that will capture your imagination and mystery for what is to come.  Enjoy!

I'm please to be joined bt Fantasy and Sci-fi author Adrian Tchaikovsky to discuss his debut epic fantasy series Shadows of the Apt.  This series has forever been a favorite of mine and we do a full dive into the world, characters, plot, and then some.  There is a non-spoiler section to start and then switches to spoiler talk at the 38:30 minute mark so please beware.  One of the best fantasy series on the market today and it is still not very well know to readers.  I plan to change that!!!

I'm pleased to welcome sci-fi and fantasy author Karin Lowachee to my podcast.  Published in 2002, Warchild dives into the tragety and hardships of piracy, abduction, and abuse from the childs perspective.  A series ahead of its time and one any diehard sci-fi reader will enjoy.  All Karin's influences and themes we will discuss and disect in this podcast episode is not to be missed.

I am pleased to be joined by epic fantasy author Brian Staveley on my podcast.  I have been a long time fan of his work for almost a decade!  We go into a deep dive of his work, chracters vs plot being the most important element in a novel, and so much more.  I hope you all enjoy this one as it was a pleasure to have Brian on with me.  Cheers!

I am please to be joined by Grimdark fantasy author Christopher Brenning.  We discuss his debut novel, inspirations, and future plans for the series.  We even get into a long discussion on A Game of Thrones.  Fantastic series and I had a blast with Christopher.
