With almost no time to prepare, manager Richard Møller Nielsen gathered a team filled with quiet belief, hard-working players, and unforgettable heroes like Peter Schmeichel, Brian Laudrup, Henrik Larsen, John Jensen, Lars Elstrup, and Kim Vilfort. What followed became one of the most remarkable stories in European football history.

From a tense draw against England, to a must-win match against France, to Peter Schmeichel’s legendary penalty save against Marco van Basten and the Netherlands, Denmark kept finding a way. Then, in the final against Germany, goals from John Jensen and Kim Vilfort completed the fairy tale and gave Denmark the 1992 European Championship title.
