Surprise, it's our walking simulator spectacular! Step with us as we chart the history and tropes of this sub-genre with our Secret Game synergy. But don't sit down too soon; we've got a house to inherit alongside the eponymous Edith Finch from Giant Sparrow's latest adventure.

Ten episodes deep, the routine of creating Underplayed has felt like a time loop of sorts: play something for a defined period of time, then analyze what was experienced. How fitting, then, that we chose Mobius Digital's mind-bending Outer Wilds for Season 1's final Featured Game. We discuss the mysteries of space, but not before taking on a few Secret Games that star a Time Messenger and an ape, both of whom just want some sweet, sweet revenge.

We're talking about the emotional, reminiscent tale of Before Your Eyes, our Featured Game from GoodbyeWorld Games. But first, we seek to alter an accident and locate man's best friend in our Secret Games. According to the Ferryman, you finally hit the jackpot, flapjack!

We strive for variety in the interactive experiences we pick for this podcast, so we're overjoyed with how little our Secret Games have in common: one is a boss-filled, sweat-inducing action gauntlet, while the other is an innocent meditation on the pleasures of childhood friendship. In the back half, we talk about the confident and hauntingly beautiful world of Hyper Light Drifter from Heart Machine.

Reverse horror? What's that? Instead of the game scaring you, do YOU scare the game? This was just one of the questions we had as we got our hands on Carrion, our Featured Game from Phobia Game Studio. Listen also for our thoughts on a few Secret Games featuring sinister time loops and online cloud-soaring platforming.

Giant swords and dizzying jumps are just a few hallmarks of our Secret Games. Then there's our Featured Game, and we're tackling a big one: Hades. It might not be the first Supergiant Games game, but it's certainly the most Supergiant Games game. Wrapping our arms around the details and systems of this insurmountably large experience is quite an impressive feat. The brash Theseus would be proud.

We begin by laying out our roadmap for Season 1 of the podcast; 10 regular episodes and a bonus recording are in the works. We explore nostalgic 90s crimes and an alternate history espionage farce with our Secret Games. Then, we hop on the first flight to Snaktooth Island, the home of our Featured Game from Young Horses: (OH-OOH-OHHH, it's) Bugsnax!

Axiom Verge is arguably the most Metroid-like Metroidvania out there. One of us had played it previously, the other hadn't. After revealing and reviewing our Secret Games, we bring two different perspectives to our review of Thomas Happ's magnum opus.
