I was sitting through a church service and the idea of "putting on the new man" suggested itself to my imagination in a much more thrilling conceptualization.  I like to think that our efforts to improve ourselves don't need to be grounded in a sense of moral defeat.

Self rule may be distinct from the idea of self tyranny.  I explore whether self tyranny is a good option when you find difficulty ruling yourself.
