Some of the people I can’t wait to meet in God’s Kingdom aren’t the obvious heroes—they’re the ones like Elijah, bold enough to call a nation back to God yet human enough to wrestle with fear and loneliness. It reminds me that God loves working through the unexpected; unexpected places, unexpected people, unexpected moments of grace. As we look at Elijah’s journey, I pray it open our eyes to how God is moving in the surprising corners of our own lives.
