What stops us from experiencing healing? To understand that, we have to take a look at what stops us from being vulnerable and transparent. Whenever there is a risk of feeling uncomfortable, or hurt, or pain, we'll naturally choose comfort and safety. We have an insecurity, and so we perceive ourselves a certain way. Then, we project that onto the people who we may need to be vulnerable and transparent with. Then, we assume that they will perceive us in that same way. So, fear begins to well up inside of us, and it becomes so gripping and paralyzing that we avoid vulnerability and transparency. However, in doing so, we also remain in our brokenness instead of experiencing healing and growth.
