The Bible offers many God-given promises but there are often conditions. For example, Psalm 91 states that the Lord is our refuge, but only if we dwell in the secret place of the Most High. Are we dwelling there or just visiting occasionally?
Guest speaker, Rev. Miguel Albans of Love, INC, preached a message on the temptations Jesus faced and how, as believers in Christ, we must face similar tests. He related how to overcome them and be fruitful. In addition, he shared briefly on the work of Love, INC in our community.

In multiple places in the Gospels, Jesus tells us Who He is. The Apostle John chose several "I Am" statements of Jesus that he heard Jesus declare and expound upon in His discourses. He tells us Who He is, are we listening?
The service today was a celebration of our three years as a church, the Union Street Meeting House. How grateful we are for all that God has done! Our apostolic shepherd, the Reverend Doctor Carl Vincent (who much prefers Pastor Carl to Rev. Dr.) gave a strong message for us entitled The Power of God. Every believer needs to respond to the Spirit in this message.
The Book of John reveals several "I Am" statements that Jesus made; but this expression was first declared to Moses in Exodus 3:14 after Moses asked God what His name is. God told Moses: I AM THAT I AM.
One of the purposes for Jesus coming to earth was to declare who God is. He declared and He demonstrated the I AM. At least seven times in the book of John, Jesus said, "I am," with various descriptors. I am the Bread of Life, I am the Light of the world, I am the Good Shepherd, etc.
Looking at Acts 16, we see how Paul and Silas took a severe beating and imprisonment and were able to turn it into ministry. First, they ministered to the Lord in worship, God moved on their behalf through an earthquake and then the jailer was saved, he and his whole household. Take a second look at the difficulties you encounter; God may want to turn the whole thing around.
The following is a link to the video shown to the congregation during the service. It shows a family worshipping through a hurricane, even as their roof blows off.

The Apostle Peter wrote to the church of his day but we must accept that it was also written to us. II Peter 1: 3 states, "... for His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence." Everything we need for LIFE; everything we need to make a difference in our sphere of influence. Listen to Pastor Tim as he ministers God's word for you today from II Peter. Be a difference-maker.
In today's message, Pastor Tim connects the blind man's healing with what Jesus does with each of us. He heals and cleanses us from sin and then sends us to minister as we go.
The gifts God gives you are not specifically for you. God gives them for the good of all, therefore, your gifts are for serving others.
The night before Jesus laid down His life on the cross, He took a towel and washed the disciples' feet. He demonstrated what ministry is all about . . . serving.
