Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 42 which has been on bestseller lists numerous times in recent years. Nathan Deiwert, an illustrator led by a desire to craft worlds, creates imaginative creatures and characters that coincide with one another. Deiwert is driven to come up with new ways to develop familiar concepts in the form of paintings, digital illustrations, and visual development. From fear-inducing entities to happy moments, he creates work with thought and explores new ideas.

For Deiwert, active research is a considerable portion of the process of the creation of his art; be it artistic influences past and present, anatomy or cultures. His favorite influences are presently Frank Frazetta, Norman Rockwell, N.C. Wyeth and Maxfield Parrish. Thomas R. Eggenberger penned his first stories as a child in the small Ohio town where he was born. Continuing to write as he lived in Japan and France and traveled much of the world, he’s now up to six manuscripts and a book’s worth of short stories (and counting). When not hanging out with his lovely wife or spoiling his dogs, he works on unconventional fantasy trilogies and a wild range of science fiction stories.

He has previously been published in Fiction on the Web and Fairlight Shorts, and received two Silver Honorable Mentions from the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest before winning this time.

The Contest, one of the most prestigious writing and illustrating competitions in the world, is currently in its 43rd year and is judged by some of the premier names in speculative fiction.

Kuester is an engineer by day, science fiction writer by night. Tracy Quinlan is an astrologer and Acutonics® sound healing practitioner based in Edmonton, Alberta. She helps people make sense of what’s happening in their lives (and in the sky) so they can feel steadier, clearer, and more like themselves again.

Astrology isn’t just something she does for fun, or as a hobby — it’s the thread that runs through everything she creates. From consultations and sound treatments to writing, books, and her podcast Sky Notes, astrology shapes how she teaches, treats, and helps people reconnect with their own rhythm & timing.

Tracy has also been deeply involved in Edmonton’s astrology community, serving on the board of the Edmonton Astrological Society in several roles — including President, Past President, and Events Coordinator — where she helped nurture education and connection among astrologers across Alberta.
