Welcome to the Unity Baptist Church sermon podcast!

What would you say if I told you that you can have complete peace in your life today? Some of us listening in to this might be thinking, complete peace in a person’s life is impossible. Others listening in might say that peace is circumstantial, and to have complete peace in one’s life, that is what makes it impossible. What if you’re wrong? What if a person can experience a peace that passes all understanding? Today, Senior Pastor, Heath Bauer in the Gospel of John series. Heath shows us from the Gospel of John the peace of “impossible.”

I think I can vouch for all of us when I say, I do not enjoy suffering. What an adventure right? When it comes to suffering, humanity tries its best to stay away from it, and with well reasons. The pain and anguish it causes creates an atmosphere of emotional distress. Suffering is inescapable. So, how can people make it through times of suffering? How do you make it through times of suffering? Today, Senior pastor, Heath Bauer is in the Gospel of John series. Heath helps us see how Christ and God’s Word will help us through our suffering.

Just about all of us have a voice in our life that when it speaks, we stop what we are doing and listen. One of those voices, for me, was my grandfather. It didn’t matter where I was, or what I was doing, when he spoke, he had my attention. I could trust his voice and what he was about to share with me I trusted as truth. We are nearing the end of the Upper Room Discourse in our Gospel of John series. Today, Senior pastor, Heath Bauer, leads us through four points that Jesus gives his disciples in these last moments together.

This week, we are back in the Gospel of John series! For those who have been following with us, and to those who are just jumping in, we have been walking through the John’s gospel account of Jesus. We are currently in what is known as the Upper Room Discourse. Jesus has laid bare before them what is going to happen. As we step into John 16, Senior Pastor, Heath Bauer shares these two powerful points about Jesus’ promise of the coming Counselor; 1. Dealing with Disappointment, and 2. Depending on the Holy Spirit.

How do you measure healthy leadership? When it come to being a leader, there is always a list of key qualifications a leader must meet. Remember when you got to be the line leader in elementary school? You had qualifications to meet, like your birthday, you got an A on the spelling test. To be a leader of a company, there are must have qualifications you have to have to make or continue company success and growth. It has been said, “the best leader is one who serves.” Today, Senior pastor Heath Bauer, walks us through the scriptural qualifications of being a deacon in the local church.

Do you know what it means to hate? For many of us, we loosely use this term. “I hate going to school.” “I hate having to wake up so early.” “I hate Monday’s.” “I hate leg day…or is it leg day hates me?” Whatever it is, we have thrown this word out of our mouths so all the world will know what or who we hate. In today’s episode, Senior Pastor Heath Bauer has us in the Gospel of John series. We are following Jesus in his last moments through the Upper Room Discourse. Today we will take a deeper look into why the “world” hates a true Christ follower.

In today’s episode, Senior Pastor Heath Bauer has us in the Gospel of John series. We are following Jesus through the Upper Room Discourse. Have you ever had those days where it just seems the world is after you? Like it hates you? Take some comfort from Jesus when He says, “If the world hates you, understand it that it hated Me before it hated you.” Living for Jesus is a very distinct life. It is contradictory to what the world deems best for you. What are you living for today?

We all love a good movie. The plot, the story line, the action, the romance, the suspense…this is just a short list of what producers and film makers take into consideration when producing the next blockbuster. What movies have you seen when one of the main or supporting characters starts out one way - let’s say a nice guy, and then by mid way through the film you start to see that he is not such a nice guy. He ends up being on the dark side of life instead! What about the Christian life? Are there people who “look like” a Christian on the outside, but internally they have never surrendered their life to Christ? How can we know people are Christians? For those who have been following and for those who are listening in now, we are in the Gospel of John series, and we are following Jesus through what is known as the Upper Room Discourse. Today, Senior Pastor, Heath Bauer starts us off in John 15 and addresses these thoughts.

Welcome to the Unity Baptist Church sermon podcast!

How many of us love goodbyes? One of many great memories I have from my younger years were the times my family got to visit my grandparents. While many families would travel to the beaches or mountains for vacation in the summer, we would travel to Pennsylvania to to be with my grandparents. After a week or so with them, that one morning was coming fast. The goodbye morning. It’s a conflicting moment! You are ready to be home, but also, you don’t want to leave Gram and Pap. As a kid, you wonder why you just can’t stay…but the older I got, and with each goodbye, created a greater longing for those return visits. In John 14, Jesus shares this moment with his disciples. He is saying his goodbyes and why He must go. He shares this with them before it happens so that when it actually happens, that they might believe. A goodbye is a great cause for a wonderful “welcome home” reunion! Today, Senior pastor, Heath Bauer takes us through, “A Soldier’s Goodbye.”
