Years ago, when I was 11 years old, I played on a little league baseball team. For me, as an 11 year old, baseball was something I really enjoyed playing. During that summer, I remember looking forward to playing on Saturday afternoon. But there was something that was threatening our game. The weather. It rained for two whole days, but I still had hope we would play. Turns out, the field was flooded, and we didn’t play. Hope. Hope looks forward to something that is unseen. What are you hoping in? The plot, the story line, the action, the romance, the suspense…this is just a short list of what producers and film makers take into consideration when producing the next blockbuster. What movies have you seen when one of the main or supporting characters starts out one way - let’s say a nice guy, and then by mid way through the film you start to see that he is not such a nice guy. He ends up being on the dark side of life instead! What about the Christian life? Are there people who “look like” a Christian on the outside, but internally they have never surrendered their life to Christ? How can we know people are Christians?
