Come with us if you want to listen. The first of Arnold Schwarzenegger's outings as a robot---sorry, cyborg(surrounded by living tissue!)sent from the future takes us into our next stretch of episodes. Ben can hear it now, he's gonna be called the goddamned phone book killer. Charles thinks it's a nice night for a walk, but he has nothing to wear.
Time to send off the Halloween Spooktacular to a peaceful Antarctic slumber. John Carpenter's masterful retelling of Who Goes There? is given a blood test with a hot needle. Ben asks Charles how long he was alone with that dog, while Charles tries to get his point across: they're not Swedish, Ben, they're Norwegian!
With the Big Three slasher series behind, Ben and Charles focus their lens back down to a single picture in the form of the chilling haunted house spectacle from James Wan that kicked off the Conjuring Universe series. Ben goes off to play Hide and Clap while Charles gets left in a room where everything is either cursed, haunted, or has been used in some kind of ritualistic practice.
Charles watched him for fifteen years, sitting in a room, staring at a wall; not seeing the wall, looking past the wall; looking at this episode, inhumanly patient, waiting for some secret, silent alarm to trigger him off. Ben has come to your little town, and the Spooktacular cannot be stopped.
One, two, Ben asks for a clue. Three, four, Charles provides him with lore. Five, six, Freddy's movies will transfix. Seven, eight, Unlisted Wall tells you straight. Nine, ten, October delivers spooky films again.
What do you get when you cross Ben and Charles with the final movie on their Batman watchlist? Don't answer that on live television.....besides, do we look like the kind of clowns that could start a movement?
Ben and Charles could burn down the entire podcast, and if there is even a 1% chance that the Snyder take on Batman is worth watching then they have to treat it as an absolute certainty. Maybe after, they'll run a foot race coast-to-coast for bragging rights.
Theatricality and deception are powerful agents to the uninitiated, but Ben and Charles are initiated, aren't they? Nolan's Batman trilogy concludes, podcasting is taken back from the corrupt and we give it to you....the people.
Ben and Charles upset the established order and observe the chaos of Nolan's highly touted sequel to Batman Begins. Podcasting deserves a better class of criminal, and we're going to give it to them.....right after we tell you how we got these scars.
