For decades, Donna heard the same words from different people:
“I wish you could see in yourself what I see. You have so much potential.”
But when confidence has been buried beneath years of insecurity, self-doubt, fear, and questioning your own abilities, it can be difficult to believe that there is anything extraordinary inside of you at all.

July 13, 2026 I CAN CARE WITHOUT CARRYING
Have you ever cared so deeply about someone or something that, without realizing it, you began carrying a burden that was never yours to hold?
Maybe you see something others don’t see. Maybe you wish someone would make a different choice. Maybe you can’t understand why something that matters so deeply to you doesn’t seem to matter to someone else. And before you know it, caring has turned into carrying, compassion has become responsibility, and your peace has begun to disappear.

As parents, grandparents, spouses, siblings, and friends, our instinct is often to protect, rescue, fix, and soften every consequence. We tell ourselves it’s because we love them—and it is. But sometimes fear quietly disguises itself as love, and before we realize it, we are carrying burdens that were never ours to carry.
In this episode of Unmasked by Grace, Donna explores one of the hardest acts of faith: loving someone enough to let go.
Letting go does not mean giving up. It does not mean we stop loving, praying, hoping, or being there. It means opening our hands and trusting the people we love to the God who loves them even more than we do.

My husband and I had just finished a wonderful week of camping and were getting ready to head home when, in a matter of seconds, everything changed. An unexpected fall led to twelve hours in the emergency room, countless prayers, and a reminder that life can change in an instant.
In this episode, I share what God taught me through the waiting—that faith isn’t just trusting Him for the outcome. It’s trusting Him through the process.
Sometimes the miracle isn’t that nothing bad happened.
Sometimes the miracle is realizing how much worse it could have been and recognizing God’s mercy in the middle of the pain.
