Vicky is a thoughtful, wise person whose experience with grief and healing led her to create an online community of compassionate people. Leesburg Moms on Facebook has a community of nearly 4.5k people and encourages its members to "collaborate and share information to be your best mom and self."

Words of Wisdom: "Life is very unpredictable. I've lived many highs and many lows— so when the highs come, enjoy yourself, immerse yourself. And when the lows are there: taking one day at a time, and understanding that this is part of a journey, and finding ways to cope with the difficult periods in our lives, including the one we're in right now. Everything thing has its time, and I do think we get to choose how we're going to respond."

UNO Souls Chat: I am honored today to be chatting with Deborah Addo— she is the President of Inova Loudoun Hospital.

Deborah is an inspiring leader in our community and always guides her heroic healthcare teams with kindness and compassion – but has especially done so through the challenging year of the pandemic. Safe@Inova is an important motto for Deborah and the hospital. We are lucky to have Deborah in our community. She is definitely an UNO Soul! 

Words of Wisdom:  “I would just say… during this time of reflection… my mom passed around this time in January.. It is always a reminder for me of those people in our lives who’ve meant so much to us. And those people in our lives that have made indelible impressions.  And as we’re going through the hardest times that we may ever go through, it’s being able to see and experience the joy of that....Even though you might miss the person, that impact and that impression never goes away. And it’s interesting how acute it is when you need it the most.”

UNO Souls Chat: I am honored today to be chatting with Heathere Evans - She is the founder of PIVOT,  a coaching organization.

Heathere is an insightful and delightful (oh, I rhymed 😊) coach!  She was local to Loudoun County, VA several years ago – in a different role – as a PR/Communications executive. She is now on the West Coast. One of her favorite affirmations is “I choose the experience that exists in this moment.” She is just what we need to help us refresh and reach our highest potential. She is definitely an UNO Soul!

UNO Souls Chat: I am honored today to be chatting with the Tea Circle Group! They are a group of friends that I have had weekly Zoom conversations with since the onset of COVID-19 and they have been a lifeline. They are the kindest ladies and the connections have been so nourishing. I am thankful for Kathy, Lida, Michelle and Laura, as well as the other ladies that couldn’t join us on the chat. They have been a family of choice and we have grown to trust each other to the upmost. They are all definitely UNO Souls!

UNO Souls Chat: I am honored today to be chatting with Diane Canney— an UNO Soul.  She is the Founder of the COVID-19 HOPE QUILT project.

Diane is working on a very important project that impacts everyone and is heart-work— a memorial quilt. The quilt panels are in honor of the front-line workers. Quilts represent the fabric of our nation. As we go through the pandemic, she is collecting 11-inch quilt squares with images of people that have passed away from COVID-19. The stories behind each quilt square are very moving. You can go to www.hopequilt.org to get instructions on how to create your own Hope Quilt panel and then send it to Diane.

UNO Souls Chat: I am honored today to be chatting with Pat Wirth – an UNO Soul.  She is the Executive Director of the Turning Point Suffragist Memorial Association.

Pat is one of the kindest and strongest people that I know and I’ve always admired her. When she sets her mind to accomplishing something, she gets it done, and is not afraid of the hard work that it takes to reach her goal. She is also a very loyal friend that will go above and beyond to help a friend in need. I consider my lucky to have received her words of wisdom many times! 

Words of wisdom: “Vote. It’s absolutely essential that we vote. Don’t ever think that your single vote doesn’t count. Our organization is nonpartisan, so we don’t care who you vote for. We just want to say how important it is – that as a citizen – you should exercise your right and choose who our best leaders should be.”

UNO Souls Chat: I am honored today to be chatting with Leah Rampy – an UNO Soul.  She has worn many hats including an executive in different corporations (including Fannie Mae), she ran her own consulting business, she was the Executive Director of a non-profit (Shalem Institute), runs interfaith retreats, and now she lives in a cohousing community in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. 

She is an amazing lady that I admire and is a beacon of light in the community. She is an activist in many areas including the environment, which she is very passionate about. She is rich in wisdom and is such a pleasure to speak with.  She has always been an inspiration to me, and I’m grateful that she has been my mentor. 

– Hear about the Save Our Soil initiative that she undertook at the cohousing community, to address climate change and the lack of ecosystems in the world and to support the regeneration of soil – she has such passion in that area. 

Quote from Leah: “The intent of the Church of the Wild is to invite people to spend time in the outdoors as a way to connect to the sacredness all around us and the sacredness in the whole living earth.” 

Words of wisdom: “Everybody has their own wisdom. So it’s a matter of quieting ourselves to listen for that – for what is being given. I really trust that the heart is wise, and that the heart has wisdom beyond what we know.  The mystics of old, that talked about mind and heart or the spiritual heart or sinking into the heart, that is deep deep wisdom, and is an invitation always for us -  but particularly in times of stress, in times where we cannot figure it out. And our tendency is  to try harder. And I have to think about it. And I need to know what I’m supposed to do. And I don’t know if I should do this. And I’m not sure, and we get in that hamster wheel of thinking. And at best it only gets us an iteration of where we are. The transformative piece is a heart journey.”
