In this episode, we talk about how Star Wars has been an inspirational movie for designers of all ages. This movie series that started in the late 70’s is staged in the future where inhabitation of different planets, technology, and fashion were ahead of its time.

In this episode, we talk about Dropbox which is a cloud service that provides storage and file sharing with teams. Dropbox can be used in many different ways from collaborating on projects virtually with teams to basically being a place where we store our files as a backup or to work on later.

In this episode, we talk about Procreate which is a sketching app on the Apple iPad that allows users to sketch, draw, paint, and so on by using our fingers or the Apple Pencil. This app allows designers to be able to draw using every kind of medium available to us in the real world. Best of all, the app allows designers to create their own mediums, layer their drawings, and work at high resolutions for final projects.

In this episode, we talk about Canva, which is a simple to use app that allows users to create beautiful graphics through pre-designed boards. At a basic level, Canva provides templates and drag and drop tools to help us bring together images, headings, and supplemental text to create posters, banners, social media images, and other graphics that align with our message and brand.

In this episode, we talk about the desktop laser cutter from Glowforge that was one of the biggest crowdfunded campaign within a 30 day period. We discuss the opportunities of using Glowforge for designers to create products to sell or physical manifestations of their work.
