Monday was #NationalBestFriendDay and in honor this week we wanted to celebrate our friendship, with not only each other but our spouses and their friendship. May is #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth and our goal is to open up the conversation on Mental Health and normalize the stigma around it; to have an open and honest conversation about our personal experiences, and we hope that we make you feel less alone.
Kristy starts the episode taking us on her Mental Health journey that started at 12 years old. She tells us about the struggles of being put on medication at such a young age, the challenges that brought and her journey of depression and anxiety into adulthood. 
Athena follows up with her journey on Mental Health and feeling ashamed with being diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, from dealing with a bad past relationship and rocky custody battle. 
We leave you with some funny stories, to lighten up the mood, after discussing such heavy topics.
During recording of this episode, we were both “in our feelings” and at times may rush our speaking or pause as a way to work through talking about our Mental Health in such a vast way.

This week Kristy and Athena were joined by Alisa, Kristy’s sister. In this two part story, Alisa shares her struggles with infertility and ultimately pregnancy.
In part two, we pick up at pivotal moment in the story, Alisa is in the midst of a medical procedure gone awry and then more loss. Alisa and her wife make the decision to go from IUI to IVF. Along with dealing with the hormones and emotions of all this, Alisa discusses how hard it is to have pregnant friends, attend baby showers and the comments that seem well intentioned but are not. Ultimately Alisa’a journey with infertility ended in a double rainbow with beautiful twins; she knows that not all families are lucky and hopes that by sharing her story that she has helped someone else.
