This week we celebrate Athena’s dirty thirty and discuss how it feels to turn 30. Learning who to leave at the train station as you head into the next chapter in your life and who you bring along because they are worth it. Balancing life and knowing when it’s okay to say, I need this for me, I’m standing my ground and I have it handle I don’t need help. We reflect on how when we met we could have never imagined we would have the bond we have today and Athena got a look at our the future of us. We discuss things that we have learned from each other that have helped better ourselves. We talk about the difficulty of losing a friend and how we each deal with those situations. We just really reflect on how we moved into our 20s VS moving into our 30s. We recognize the irony of not only turning 30 but starting a new DECADE and how we feel about that. We touch on being kind but not complacent because at this time in our lives we have a don’t have to do something if we don’t want to and we can blaze our own trail. We had to bring up the “millennial” aspect and we touch on inequalities of not only us as women but other minorities. And we realize there is a lot more we need to educate ourselves on with what others are going through that we don’t have to deal with as white females. *We don’t mean to offend anyone if we did.* We discuss the dreams we had as children, having that halted by early motherhood, and finding was to spark our creativity. Which lead us to Unpredictably Us and our love for this! So we really hope you love us to!  We bounce back around this and are so sorry, we just loved realizing the growth we have had and talking about our friendship. We touch on our 16 birthdays and the presents we got.

This weeks Women Crush Wednesday is Sandy! She was nominated by her daughter Hollie.
My mom first felt a lump in mid - late 2013. She kept an eye on it, and noticed it wasn’t going away and she was starting to feel some pain. She told me in the fall and I told her she needed to go to a doctor. She went to the doctor’s in December and was officially diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in January of 2015. She went through chemo and radiation, while working overtime in part to help fund some of my wedding. She may have missed one or two days of work the whole time. I always knew she was strong, losing her sister and going through a divorce one and two years prior, but watching her fight so hard, and never giving up, no matter how badly she wanted to. It killed me to see her so weak. The hardest part for her was definitely when she started to lose her hair. Anyone that has known her for a while knows that her hair was “her thing”, and she was majorly stuck in the 80s with her hairstyle. I will never forget the day she asked me to shave it off because she was tired of it falling out all over. We both cried so hard, it was one of the most emotional experiences I’ve been through. Today I joke with her and tell her, “God knew the only way you would change your hairstyle is if he made you lose it.” Now, her hair is just as long as it was before she got cancer. And as of this fall, my mom has been cancer free for five years, with a great man by her side for last 3 years! 
Lets all give Sandy a huge air hug, round of applause, and what have you not, for KICKING CANCERS ASS!

This week, we discuss some of the ways we have scarred our kids while our trick or treating over the past 10 years. 
Kristy talks about her brother traumatizing both her and her sister, while dressed up as various horror characters, going on a haunted hay ride and the year she thought she could face her fear of the neighbor that dressed up as Micheal Meyers, every year.
Athena goes over her childhood haunts and scares. We learn that she doesn’t know what scary really is, since she’s never seen a horror film.
This week Athena is “crushing on” Jim.
When explaining Jim to my friends, I always have to start it as “guys he’s scary but cool!”
I wanted to high light the guy who married my husband and I; He’s such an amazing friend to us, he’s helped us through a lot of trials and I honestly don’t have an important memory for the past ten years that didn’t have him with us. He’s been my shoulder I cried on for heart break and the person who can bring comedic entertainment. I had to shout out Jim because every Halloween he’s burned a core terrifying memory into the children’s brains! When I told him to hold onto his beard because we were sending a shout out, he literally held on to his beard in true Jim fashion!

Episode 5: Laughing Through the Chaos
