Sony partnered with Epic Games to give us a glimpse into the future with the debut real-time gameplay demo of Unreal Engine 5 running on the PlayStation 5. It may not be a real game from an established IP, but the demo showed real gameplay and we now know what Unreal Engine 5 is capable of on PS5 and Xbox Series X. However, there is more to UE5 than meets the eye, as the engine will also be compatible with the Nintendo Switch - thus alleviating concern of future support. We discuss how UE5 shapes the future of gaming and how Sony was smart to use UE5 as a marketing tool for PS5.
