In our reading of chapters 19 - 25 of "A Shade of Vampire" by Bella Forest, we learn more about Derek's background. Basically, he was a farmer. That's it. He's also a passionate musician. His entire personality can be summed up as a cross between Chicago and the Godfather. Wow, amazing.

As we read chapters 7 - 11 of A Shade of Vampire by Bella Forrest, Derek Novak finally wakes up. Sophia is instantly attracted to him because she's kind and likes to hold hands. He's instantly jealous of her hand-holding abilities and insists she only holds his hand indefinitely. Such a meet-cute.
