Maybe you feel like God doesn’t hear you when you pray.  If you are crying out to God and wonder if he hears you Perry and Shawna talk about ways to anchor yourself in the truth that God longs to hear what’s on your heart.  Then a reminder to set your hope on that future day when “all the sad things will come untrue.”  It’s the only hope that never gives way.  And it’s a hope that gives us a reason to live. It means that today matters—that what we do matters.  It means that with every act of love we put a brick in the New Jerusalem.  And it means the best is yet to come.  And finally Shawna shares how her default mode in life has been “turtling,” pulling back emotionally and disengaging when it feels too risky to share her thoughts and feelings.  But now for the first time in her life she can see her “turtling shell” that she thought kept her safe for the grave that it is. She’s embracing this truth:  That’s not who she is. Jesus Christ is setting her free from that shell so she can experience overflowing life in Him.  Jesus raises us out of whatever grave we are in to bring us into his glorious day!
