In this very first episode of Unspoken Conversations with Candace podcast, your host Candace Sanchez, the author of the book Unspoken, talks to her daughter Victoria. Candace shares about her life, how and why she wrote her book, the obstacles she faced while writing it, and how she feels now having a book with her story of survival.
Victoria joins her in conversation, sharing about their life from her perspective. It is always hard to talk about abuse, about being molested. The book was one way to deal with it, to validate feelings, to heal in the process, and to be inspiring to others. This podcast is another way to reach more people, to empower and encourage them to share their stories. It does not have to be about a child abuse. It can be about domestic violence, depression, suicide, taboo topics, death, fights with cancer. This podcast is really to just tell the stories of other survivors – of whatever it is – of life – of all the experience it throws at you.
