Fact 1: Peaking in the 16th and 17th centuries, Europeans routinely engaged in various forms of cannibalism. From grinding up skulls to digest and cure headaches, to taking tinctures of mummy remains to quell internal bleeding - it was believed that the remains contained the true spirit of the deceased, and that spirit could be helpful in curing a variety of common ailments.

Fact 2: Although most spiders prefer to work alone, some form colonies to build large communal webs, sharing their catches with one another. 

Plus children’s Halloween costumes are the least predictable, most unstable things about this spooky season.
