In this episode we discuss how being a strong, powerful woman with a lot of masculine energy has brought its challenges in relationships. She continues to explain how you don't need to change who you are to resolve this situation and in fact distorting yourself is counterproductive to attracting the right person. You need to find someone who 'likes to drink Turkish coffee' ;) and whilst waiting on them you need to do the work to become the type of woman that a man like that is looking for.

In today's episode, Bea and I have a really juicy and sometimes passionate and heated discussion on how the trauma that we have gone through in the past can influence or has influenced the future relationship choices we have made. We explore how often people attract to them or choose similar types of people that hurt them in the past because that comfortable discomfort is familiar. Meanwhile healthy safe connections can be seen as boring because they don't activate our nervous system in the same way. We share that to attract different experiences we have to release the pain, get the lessons, recognize the role we are playing in our suffering and make conscious choices away from what is unhealthy for us 

Bea and I uncover how if our past pain is left unprocessed or unresolved we either attract in similar connections, retraumatizing ourselves, or alternatively we choose people that are not quite what we want in order to keep ourselves safe and break our own hearts...or perceived safe, because in fact denying ourselves what we really desire in order to not get hurt actually keeps us looping in the pain we are trying to avoid. We also discuss our own journey's with coming back into a healthy relationship with ourselves and treating ourselves how we want another to treat us <3

In this week's episode I am joined by artist and mother affected by Parental Alienation, Deborah Pearse.

Deborah and I discuss the lack of connection and communication she has had with her daughter over a 12 year period. Despite numerous attempts at communication from Deborah she has received no response from her daughter, due to her ex partners influence. Deborah shares the impact that has had on her and the things she has learned throughout this time, whilst I touch on my counterbalance experience of the absence of my biological father in my life for around 20 years, somewhat due to my mother's influence

Deborah shares how creating art has helped and continues to help her heal and act as a tool for her process her Parental Alienation experience and has a vision of using art to spread awareness around this challenging ordeal on a wider scale.

Deborah intends to launch her own podcast in the coming months, The Divided Podcast, where she will be exploring Parental Alienation and its effects from various different angles.
