Hey UN•THERAPIST,
We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something…
📌 What does it really mean to be "Black?"
📌 And does it carry the same weight it did when we were growing up?
In our session, we found ourselves circling a question that sounds simple… but isn’t.
📌 Is being Black cultural, or is it DNA?
📌 Is it heritage written in your cells?
📌 Or is it rhythm, language, experience, and shared struggle?
Because depending on who you ask, the answer shifts.
Some say it’s biological. If it’s in your bloodline, that’s the end of the discussion. Others say it’s cultural. If you live it, speak it, embody it, then that’s your claim.
Then you have those who don’t even want to use “Black” at all.
And then there’s “Afro” this and “Afro” that. Afro-Latino. Afro-Caribbean. Afro-something.
📌 Where did “Afro” enter the chat?
📌 Is that a bridge to Africa? A rebrand? A distinction?
📌 A way of saying, “I’m connected… but not fully claiming?”
📌 Or is it just evolution of language in real time?
And here’s the deeper layer…
📌 Does being Black hold the same connotation today as it did for our ancestors?
📌 Has it shifted from identity to aesthetic? From survival to selection? From lineage to lifestyle?
📌 When people classify themselves now, are they honoring DNA, culture, proximity, preference… or something else entirely?
Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE Blackness as DNA vs culture, the evolution of identity labels, cultural claiming vs cultural living, and whether being Black today means what it meant yesterday.

Hey UN•THERAPISTs,
We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something…
Do you think all "opinions" can be altered? Lady J & Chef Shay let it be known that when it comes to people traveling with animals and pretending they need them due to medical needs, it is a form of modern-day corruption.
📌 Now, on the other hand, what happens when someone admits they had their mind made up before even listening to what the potential truth can be?
📌 Is there a statute of limitations on transparency?
📌 Are all truths meant for public consumption?
📌 Or are some things better left unsaid?
Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE if "service animals" are really of service or a public nuisance, the impact of public confessions, and whether some truths belong in the open… or in the grave.
No intro, just vibes 💪🏽

📌 Can we truly take the justice system seriously anymore?
We’re in Black History Month, and recently a bombshell dropped. One of the jurors from the OJ trial admitted that the verdict was influenced by what she described as a form of reparations. A response to years of injustice.
Now let’s sit with that.
📌 I can understand the emotion. I can understand the history. But was that the right move?
📌 And maybe more importantly, was that something that needed to be said out loud?
Because transparency sounds powerful until it starts cracking foundations.
Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE the boundaries of transparency, the impact of public confessions, and whether some truths belong in the open… or in the grave.

Hey UN•THERAPIST,
We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something...
While watching an interview with a reality TV personality, a statement was made: "Self-sacrifice is not love."
📌 Do ya'll believe that to be true or false?
The beauty of this is that life is that individual experiences may make us see this question differently, but to those of us who were ever blessed enough to experience true love in any capacity, we know that the majority of the ways to show love involve a form of self-sacrifice. Now, that may not be the only way to display it, but it was definitely an effective way to communicate it.
Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE if love is self-sacrifice, email etiquette, & the cost of community.

Hey UN•THERAPIST,
We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something...
Now I promise ya'll we had a dope session prepared for ya'll, but when we started talk'n that Greek Life aka the Divine 9, things went their own way.
But once Coach started talking about the similarities in the colors of sororities & gangs, it got us thinking...
📌 What does the world really view Divine 9 sororities and fraternities as?
📌 I mean, for sure, there's a significant amount of positivity we put into the world, and we love being agents of change, but should the opinions of the outside world affect us?
📌 Is the energy we say we represent truly the energy we give off?
Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE Greek life, the business behind it, & the perspective the world has about them.

Hey UN•THERAPIST,
I need your help. UN•THERAPIZING something…
📌 Let me ask you a question. Do small businesses really believe that people shouldn’t ask for discounts or coupons?
Because let’s be honest, every big brand we shop with BJ’s, Costco, Fashion Nova you already know the first thing we’re doing is hunting for a promo code. No shame.
📌 So why does that conversation suddenly feel uncomfortable when it comes to small businesses?
Now granted, we do understand there's a difference. Smaller budgets. More sweat equity. A lot more risk. A lot more personal investment.
But here’s the real tension:
📌 Why shouldn’t consumers be looking for incentives when deciding where to spend their money?
📌 Is it wrong to ask?
📌 Is it disrespectful?
📌 Or is it just part of how modern consumers shop?
And while we’re at it…
📌 How long is a refill actually good for at a restaurant?
📌 Is there an unspoken rule?
📌 A moral line?
📌 Or are we just making things up as we go?
Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE, asking for discounts from small businesses, refill etiquette, and exploring the evolving dynamics between parents and their children once they step into parenthood themselves.

Hey UN•THERAPIST,
We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something...
What does it mean when someone uses the term "say it with love"?
We've heard the term for years, but it sparked some conversation...
📌 Is the "with love" contingent on the person who says it or the person who hears it?
📌 Does the responsibility for receiving "the love" in the statement fall more on the speaker or the listener?
Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE dietary entitlement at cookouts, the increased variety in service animals, & communicating in love.

When are we going to stop taking grace for granted?!?!?!
Now we don't ever want to define someone by their worst moments in life, but when is enough really enough?
Some people chase forgiveness and sympathy as if it's a game of unlimited chances.
📌 But what happens when you run out of grace?
📌 What's your next move?

Hey UN•THERAPIST,
First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR UN•THERAPY Family!!! We sincerely appreciate all of ya'll for rocking out with us this year and since this podcast started.
We know some of ya'll are still recovering from New Year's Eve festivities, so we won't hold ya'll long, but we do have a question to start us off with in this new year...
📌 When it comes to operating at your highest level, what has proven to be the most successful for you: Routines or Discipline?
We know that every year we enter a new set of unknowns, and we don't always know how to handle them. But one thing is for sure: some of the "unknowns" help us get to the next level, sometimes in methods we never imagined.
To conquer your goals, what do you tend to start with? The routine, the discipline, or a combination of both?
Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE discipline, routines, taking our power back in the workplace, & avoiding "homeboy business."

Hey UN•THERAPIST,
We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something...
First things first, Season's Greetings, Happy Holidays, Merry Xmas to you and yours.
Now that we've addressed the formalities, we have a question for ya'll...
📌 I know this is the season of giving, but is it truly better to give than to receive?
Although giving is a beautiful thing, it would be nothing without receiving. When you think about it, to complete the cycle of giving, someone has to receive.
📌 So how can we keep the importance of giving while showing that receiving has just as much of a place this season?
Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE the importance of receiving, macaroni & cheese etiquette, and types of people who should never participate in Secret Santa.
