Macroinvertebrate sampling can indicate stream health generally. The presence or absence of certain macro species can also tell you about the negative impacts of human activities on stream health and the potential positive impacts of stormwater pollution mitigation activities.

Justine Marshall, Erosion Control Services, talks about her project with the City of Saratoga Springs to install and maintain 30 FlexStorm storm drain inlet protection boxes near Utah Lake.

When you power wash or pressure wash a building, parking lot, etc. all the dirt and other pollutants you wash away can go down the storm drain and cause pollution. Dawn Barbee with Sandy City explains how you can power wash responsibly and not pollute.

This program oversees Salt Lake County’s stream & precipitation gauging network, snow course measurements,  watershed planning and related stream restoration activities and stormwater programs. This team consists of compliance experts, geologists, landscape architects, biologists and environmental scientists dedicated to understanding all things water related in the lower Jordan River basin.
