Episode 46|God's Redemptive Plan| Suffering and Glory

This week we dive into Isaiah 52:3-53:12, the fourth Servant Song.  We see the extent of the Saviour's suffering and hear the call that, as we wait for heaven, we are called to suffer, as Christ himself suffered.  Are you ready?

Episode 45|God's Redemptive Plan| The Servant

God's plan of redemption has been in place since the beginning.  God creates, People sin, God judges, God redeems and then God restores/recreates. 

After the exile, Isaiah prophesies about the Servant, who will come and restore Israel, the failed servant, to be a light to the nations.  We see how the Messiah is part of God's redemptive plan.  Listen in as we discuss the first three of four servant songs, found in Isaiah 42, 49 and 50.

Episode 44| Chosen

Digging into portions of Isaiah 41-43, 48 and 56-58, we see that Israel is God's servant, chosen to be a light to the nations.  But they failed. But God has a plan to redeem Israel and send them a Servant who will perfectly fulfill the mission.  The church now has a mission to continue to bring the gospel to the ends of the earth.  To be chosen, is to know the beauty of God's grace.  Listen in as Lindsey dives in deep, to help the listeners understand the beauty of being chosen by God!

Episode 43| One Sovereign God and Creator

Isaiah 40-48, starts up 160 years after the events of Isaiah 39.  Israel has been through judgment, being in exile for 70 years.  They are now called out, to be God's servants to declare to the world, that there is only one God, only one Savior and only one Creator who is Sovereign over all.  As His chosen ones, they do not need to live in fear, but to be a light to the nations.

Episode 42| The One Who Trusts in the Lord

As we study Isaiah 36-39 we see the judgement towards the one who trusts in himself and blessing for the one who trusts in God.

Episode 40| The Kingdom of God 

Isaiah 24-26 and 32-35 foretells of both God's plan to judge the world, and also to redeem His people.  It tells of the future fullfillment of the Kingdom of God, when the redeemed will live fully in the presence of the Lord.   God's rule is soveriegn over all the earth, now and forevermore.  In these chapters we see:

1. The active presence of God revealed through judgement.

2.  The active presence of God revealed through redemption.

3.  The Kingdom of God: Evil is defeated and justice restored!

Episode 39| What Kind of People Ought We to Be?

As we get into Isaiah 24-27 and 33-34, we once again are reminded that God is King of the entire world.  As His children, we have a responsiblity to live in obedience to His Kingship.  Listen to discover, how we ought to live!

Episode 38| God is King of All Nations

This week is an overview of the judgments that Isaiah pronounced to the nations in Isaiah 13-23.  Babylon is the symbol of all the other nations that are opposed to God, and so we focus our attention on Babylon's sin of "pompous pride" and trying to be like God.

Application for today:

1. Pray for humility in your life.

2. When you are making decisions, and preparing and planning for the future be sure to do it in prayer and a surrendered heart.

3. Pray for humility in your leaders, both political and spiritual.

4. Reflect on Prov 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. (Fear = Worship and Surrender)

Episode 36|  Refreshing Wells of Salvation

In the midst of judgement, Isaiah 11-12, reminds us of the refreshing joy that comes from putting aside all other sources of trust, and putting full trust in the Lord.
