Ro: Sub cerul noros al iernii, școala de internat părea un castel din basme.
En: Under the cloudy winter sky, the boarding school seemed like a castle from fairy tales.

Ro: Pereții groși de piatră se ridicau printre nămeții de zăpadă, iar copacii falnici din pădurea din apropiere erau acoperiți cu un strat gros de alb.
En: The thick stone walls rose among the snowdrifts, and the tall trees in the nearby forest were covered with a thick layer of white.

Ro: Vântul şuiera printre crengi, aducând cu el promisiunea unor aventuri necunoscute.
En: The wind whistled through the branches, bringing with it the promise of unknown adventures.

Ro: Andrei privea pe fereastra camerei sale.
En: Andrei was looking out the window of his room.

En: Stefan, however, stood in a corner of the hallway, looking skeptically at Andrei's plans.

Ro: „E periculos.
En: "It's dangerous.

Ro: Și, oricum, legenda e doar o poveste pentru copii,” spunea el cu voce fermă.
En: And anyway, the legend is just a children's story," he said firmly.

Ro: Dar nici măcar remarcile sale nu puteau diminua dorința lui Andrei de aventură.
En: But not even his remarks could diminish Andrei's desire for adventure.

Ro: Afară, vântul le mușca fețele, iar zăpada le îngreuna mersul.
En: Outside, the wind bit their faces, and the snow made walking difficult.

Ro: Ioana și Andrei se strecurau printre copacii grei de zăpadă, hotărâți să-și urmeze ținta.
En: Ioana and Andrei slipped among the snow-laden trees, determined to follow their target.

Ro: Dură puțin până când forma cabanei apărută prin ceața iernii în fața lor.
En: It took a little while until the shape of the cabin appeared through the winter mist in front of them.

En: Inside, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

Ro: Rafturi pline de jurnale îngălbenite se întindeau de-a lungul pereților.
En: Shelves full of yellowed journals stretched along the walls.
