Hey guys! Welcome back!! So, do you have certain friends in which every time you get together with them you laugh so hard your cheeks hurt and/or your whole face hurts? WELL, in this episode, I’m hangin’ out with my homie, Dani Newcombe. Dani is a friggin badass; former personal trainer turned speech pathologist who now works with the autistic population, specifically children. We kick off our little chit chat by, of course, catching up and, you know…talking about sexy lingerie backdrops and gallon water bottles. Then we discussed a couple of special trips that she took to China, and then somehow, our conversation naturally steered toward intuitive eating and diet culture, which, if you’ve been following me long enough, you know its my love language. Hi guys! Welcome back to the podcast. In this episode, I got to hang out with a real live super-human, Keshia Jackson! She is one of my Spin students and we just started chatting, one day after class. Now, you guys know I’m genuinely interested in people and their stories (obviously, or this podcast wouldn’t exist) so when we started talking, and she mentioned she is veteran and she has a brain tumor, I was selfishly thinking, “I HAVE to have this chick on my podcast.” She actually agreed with a “HELL YEAH”. Later, when she found me on Facebook and I started stalking her page, there she was, in all of her muscle flexing glory, on a stage as a body builder. I was like, WTF? What other surprises does she have in store for us?” You have no idea! Regardless of the existence of all three of those badass super human things (being a veteran, and body builder with a brain tumor) we only spent about 10 minutes on these topics. What's up, you Beautiful Beasts? Welcome back to the podcast! In this episode, I sat down with another childhood friend of mine, Megan Hanson. Of course we chit chat for a few minutes and catch up for a few minutes but then we get into the "good" stuff. Megan suffered from a head injury when she was 11 years old, and it has been slowly killing her for 22 years. However, her injury and all of the health problems she has today were NOT connected until just a few years ago. Megan was so gracious in telling her story and I so admire how strong, brave, and uplifting she is. As always, I hope something lands with you today. Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to another fun episode about random crap. Have you ever felt the urge to eavesdrop on a conversation between two people on a blind date? Well! This is the episode for you! I got to chat with total stranger, Shelbi Lawrance. We had never met anywhere except Instagram before this conversation, so it was seriously like a blind date and it was super fun. We talked about being overwhelmingly tired as a parent, and even showed each other close ups of our wrinkles, we swapped life stories and stories from our younger drinking days, and we shared some of our kids’ poop stories. What’s up, you Beautiful Beasts? Welcome back to the podcast! In this episode, I sat down with friend and police officer, Aaron Polly. We had a horrible internet connection so sometimes we don’t make sense, and sometimes one of us doesn’t laugh at something funny the other person said but just go with it! Aaron is super outdoorsy (if that’s a word) and loves rock climbing and hiking. He even has a rock-climbing zone that he built inside his house! We talked about quite a few things, including his experience with his wife being a surrogate mother and almost dying (WHAT?!), how he accidentally wrote a book, and he opens up about his experience as a victim in an abusive relationship and how why it’s sort of hard to talk about as a male victim. Last, but not least, we discussed some of our random tear fests as a parent, as well as some super funny moments in our parenthood experiences! As always, I hope something lands with you today.
