A man is in custody accused of firing up to a hundred shots randomly at strangers from an apartment window in Sydney's inner-west last night.

The shooting in Croydon Park left one man in a critical condition and several people suffered minor injuries.   

NSW Police say they believe a long-arm rifle was used in the shooting, and have described the incident as "unprecedented".
