: Western Cape police have launched a manhunt after five persons were gunned down and seven injured in several shooting incidents that occurred at different locations in Mitchell's Plain yesterday. Police spokesperson Novela Potelwa says five people were shot at in a tuck shop in Beacon Valley, two of them died. In the same area, four people were shot at in another tuck shop, leaving one person dead. All incidents are believed to be gang related.  Temperatures have drastically dropped in some parts of the country. This follows the South African Weather Service's (SAWS) forecast which has revealed scattered showers in areas including Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and parts of KwaZulu-Natal. The Western Cape Mobility Department has also urged all road users to exercise extreme caution. It has predicted heavy rainfall which may result in flooding as well as strong winds in several areas. This week's severe weather conditions may also lead to

Eastern Cape Judge President,  Selby Mbenenge has called his second witness to the stand in the landmark sexual harassment probe against him. The witness is Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Expert, Dr. Vincent Mello, who is expected to give evidence on the exchanges between Mbenenge and his accuser, Judges'  Secretary Andiswa Mengo. Relatives of a 25-year-old mother whose nine-day-old baby was kidnapped from the Bellville mall, in Cape Town, say they are still shaken by the incident. The 37-year-old woman arrested for the kidnapping appeared at the Bellville Magistrate's Court this morning, where has case was postponed to next Thursday. The baby was later located and returned his mother, Imaan Sharmar. Our Reporter Mlamli Maneli filed this report.

Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, could still face up to 20 years in prison after a split decision by the jury acquitted him on three of the most serious charges he faced, while convicting him on two. Diddy was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, but was acquitted on the racketeering conspiracy charge, which carries a penalty of life in prison, and two counts of sex trafficking which carried penalties of 15 years to life in prison each. ActionSA has criticises the South African Human Rights Commission's (SAHRC for supporting undocumented migrants' right to public healthcare. The Human Rights Commission's has raised concerns over the current move where undocumented foreign nationals are being denied access to healthcare services at public clinics and hospital. SAHRC Commissioner Sandra Makoasha says denying undocumented immigrants access to healthcare is not only unethical and unlawful but also inconsistent with the country's obligations under both domestic and international human rights law. Former Judges' Secretary, Zintle Nkqayi has raised questions about an alleged incident in November 2021, when Judges' Secretary, Andiswa Mengo alleges that Eastern Cape Judge President, Selby Mbenenge, solicited a sexual act from her. Nkqayi's evidence alleges that the top Judge was occupied on the afternoon inquestion. She is testifying a landmark probe into a complaint against Mbenenge, in which Mengo alleges that she was sexually harassed in in-person and electronic interactions with the judge between June 2021 and November 2022. The uMkhonto weSizwe Party Caucus in the National Assembly is heavily divided, after some members called for  party's President to remove Chief Whip, Colleen Makhubele. The MPs accuse her of unilateral and undemocratic decisions, as well as ideological betrayal. They also accuse Makhubele of descending the caucus into a state of dysfunction after she and Caucus Leader, John Hlophe removed Spokesperson, Nhlamulo Ndlela from the whipery of the party. Hlophe is also reported to have written to Zuma allegedly complaining about the alleged disrespectful conduct of Ndhlela and Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla. The Drinks Federation of South Africa (DF-SA) has called for urgent national cooperation to address South Africa's illicit alcohol market. The illicit alcohol market has grown by 55% over the past seven years, outpacing growth of the legal alcohol market, and is now worth R25.1bn. Thhe growth of illicit trade in alcohol which has cost the government R16.5bn in lost tax revenue.
