Friday, 1st of October, is the last day for the public to make submissions on who they think the next Chief Justice should be. This, as the term of the incumbent, Mogoeng Mogoeng, ends in just 10 days. Despite the fact that President Cyril Ramaphosa has the Constitutional prerogative to pick the next Chief Justice -- he has invited the public to submit their nominations by close of business on Friday.
