Mangaung Metro police officers who embarked on protest action which lead to the cordoning off of the municipality headquarters in Bloemfontein on Wednesday will face disciplinary action. The officers brought operations to a standstill shutting all staff outside the building demanding appointment letters. Two thousand fans will for the first time be allowed in the FNB stadium since March last year, for Bafana Bafana's World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia. The South African Airways says it is confident that all new agreements reached with all stakeholders; following the business rescue process, were negotiated fairly and equitably. Three police officers are back in the High Court sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court in Ekurhuleni on Monday in connection with their alleged involvement in the murder of teenager, Nathaniel Julies. Last week the court heard a recording that the police officers implicated in the death of the boy - who had Down Syndrome - may have been drinking on the job. The recording also revealed their alleged plot to cover up the murder. The secret recording was taken by a constable who was present when the incident took place. Cross-examination in the Nathaniel Julies murder trial has continued in the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge in Ekurhuleni. The Presidency has confirmed that the National Commissioner of Police, Khehla Sitole, has been served with a notice of suspension. In a statement the acting spokesperson in the Presidency, Tyrone Seale, says the President has decided to institute an inquiry into Sitole's alleged misconduct and fitness to hold office.
