An interim court order has been granted by Western Cape high court acting judge, Daniel Thulare, to the City of Cape Town, to have the refugees and asylum seekers removed from the Central Methodist church and surrounding areas. National Assembly Speaker Thandi Modise has been asked to investigate the office of the Public Protector for alleged financial mismanagement. In a letter, the Public Protector's representative in the Free State Sphelo Samuel says he has no other recourse but the speaker's office. The Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform, and Rural Development Thoko Didiza has lifted a national ban on livestock auctions in South Africa since the outbreak of Foot-and-Mouth three months ago in the Molemole District in Limpopo. The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) and the South African Cabin Crew Association (SACCA) say they condemn the Business Rescue Practitioner's decision to cancel 11 domestic routes. From the 29th of February domestic destinations such as Durban, East London and Port Elizabeth, will cease to be operated by SAA. NUMSA and SACCA say this will obviously result in job losses in those regions where SAA no longer flies to. The Gauteng Education Department has changed the policy on school outings following the death of 13-year old Enock Mpianzi. The Parktown Boys High School learner drowned last week in the Crocodile River in Brits. He was attending a Grade 8 Orientation Camp at the Nyati Bush camp site.
