The situation is quiet in and around Vuwani in Limpopo where the community has embarked on a stay away. The Pro-Makhado Task Team is behind the action after accusing government of failure to implement President Jacob Zuma's suggestion that the area should get municipal services from the Vhembe district. The Pro-Makhado Task Team has threatened to once again disrupt services around Vuwani in Limpopo by embarking on a total shutdown today. They are accusing the provincial government of failing to implement President Jacob Zuma's decision that the area should temporarily get municipal services from the Vhembe district. Some residents have rejected the Municipal Demarcation Board's decision to incorporate them into LIM345 and they have been demanding to return to the Makhado Local Municipality. ANC NEC member Bheki Cele has told the Chris Hani Branch at uPhongolo in northern KwaZulu-Natal that supporting an ANC leader accused of wrongdoing is not unprecedented in the party. According to weekend reports, deputy president and presidential hopeful Cyril Ramaphosa has had a number of extra-marital affairs over the years. He has admitted to one affair but said he had cleared the matter up with his wife years ago. Cele was delivering a Nelson Mandela lecture at the branch which has unequivocally endorsed Ramaphosa to succeed President Zuma at the party's December elective conference. Cele also warned the ANC of the posibility of losing the 2019 general election if it ignores the diagostic report after last year's election which painted it as corrupt, arrogant and socially distant.
