President Jacob Zuma has sacked Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan after days of speculation that rocked the country's markets and currency. In a cabinet reshuffle late last night, the Presidency replaced Gordhan with Malusi Gigaba. The Deputy Finance Minister, Mcebisi Jonas, was also given the boot making Sfiso Buthelezi the new Deputy. Earlier this week, President Zuma recalled Mr Gordhan from an International Investment Promotion Road International Investment Promotion Road show in the United Kingdom and the United States.
