The DA has joined civil rights group Sanco in asking Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane to launch an investigation into Eskom Acting CEO Matshela Koko. Koko allegedly awarded tenders worth R1billion to a company of which his stepdaughter is a Director. Party spokesperson Natasha Mazzone says Impulse International was awarded eight contracts during Koko's tenure as group executive. Mazzone says the DA will ensure that the rot at Eskom is laid bare. Chairperson of the Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association in the Western Cape, Victor Wiwi, says they will meet with the Delft Taxi Association to try and reach an agreement. The two taxi associations have been in conflict over the taxi routes in the Western Cape. The violence has resulted in the deaths of 2 mini-bus taxis. The situation is calm in Delft on the Cape Flats following taxi violence where two drivers from rival groups have been shot and killed over the past two weeks. Operators from Nyanga also allegedly fired several shots at Delft drivers earlier this week. Sakina Kamwendo speaks to Nazeem Daniels who is the Interim Chairman of the Delft Taxi Council.

An explicit video of a 14 year old known only as Sesethu has gone viral on the social media platforms. The video shows the teenage performing sexual acts on herself and narrating what happens. Reports are that the 14 year old had used a friend’s phone to record herself and had NO intentions of sharing the video online. In a Facebook post, Sesethu has since asked users to stop sharing the video and to consider her family. Attorney Nicholas Hall from Michalson's Attorneys says all those who shared the video of the teenager on the social media platforms can face prosecution. Hall also adds that Sesethu, as the creator and initial distributor of the video, could also face prosecution herself.

The Western Cape Minister of Transport, Donald Grant, says plans are under way to declare the Delft area a high risk area for public transport following violence related to the taxi industry. At least two mini bus taxi drivers have been shot and killed while transporting passengers in the past two weeks. A further, 23 people were arrested at the Delft taxi rank after a shooting incident involving taxi operators from Nyanga on Tuesday.
