Walter Sisulu University management and the student leadership met until late last night to try and resolve their differences over outstanding debt. Registration and other administration processes came to an abrupt halt at the University in Mthatha yesterday afternoon. This is after students prevented university workers from entering the premises, claiming that some students who have outstanding debt are required to pay 20 per cent deposit before they can be registered for this academic year. South Africans will have to fork out up to 14 percent more for medical aid this year. Most open medical aid schemes will charge their members substantial increases because many more people checked into hospital last year, increasing medical inflation.
