The community of Bophelong in the Vaal triangle is living in fear after a spate of killings in recent weeks. It is understood that three people, all believed to be gang members, were stabbed and hacked to death. The war in the area is believed to be between two rival gangs known as The Diamond from Muvhango, just outside Vanderbijlpark and the Mophemes from Boipatong. The community says the conflict between the two gangs is due to a fight for turf where traditional Basotho initiation schools take place. The ANC national executive committee has re-affirmed it's support for president Jacob Zuma's leadership. This is after the party's top leadership highest decision making body between conferences rejected calls by some within the leadership that President Zuma consider stepping down. After terrorizing communities on Guateng's East Rand for four years - the Johannesburg High Court has sentenced serial rapist Lucky Simelane to 384 years imprisonment. 33-year old Simelane began his raping spree in 2010 until 2014.
