November 30, 2016Gangs rule Bophelong in the VallThe community of Bophelong in the Vaal triangle is living in fear after a spate of killings in recent weeks. It is understood that three people, all believed to be gang members, were stabbed and hacked to death. The war in the area is believed to be between two rival gangs known as The Diamond from Muvhango, just outside Vanderbijlpark and the Mophemes from Boipatong. The community says the conflict between the two gangs is due to a fight for turf where traditional Basotho initiation schools take place.
