Over five hundred residents of Marikana in the North West province, who allegedly occupied RDP houses illegally, refuse to be evicted. These residents marched to the local police station yesterday afternoon and burnt eviction letters handed to them earlier in the day. Bafedile Moerane reports

Frightened resident of Glebelands hostel in Umlazi, Durban are now turning to the United Nation for help. They've been living in fear following another killing at the hostel. ANC councillor Zodwa Sibiya was shot and killed on Saturday. More than 60 people have been murdered at the hostel in the past two years. Community Activist for Human Rights & Social Justice, Vanessa Burger says members of the community have now resorted to seeking help from the United Nations Human Rights High Commissioner.

Police have confirmed that two drivers of a bus which crashed near Winburg in the Free State at the weekend will be charged with culpable homicide. Police say they have enough evidence to prove that the two drivers caused the crash by swapping seats while the vehicle was in motion.
