The Congress of Traditional Leaders of South African (contralesa) says Mvezo Chief Mandla Mandela cannot lead the people of Mvezo in the Eastern Cape and be a Muslim at the same time. This follows Mandla Mandela's convertion to Islam. Mandela got married Rabia Clarke, a Muslim woman and is believed to have converted to Islam late last year. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says they have decided to prosecute four members of the Soweto Special Branch for the murder of Nokuthula Simelane. Simelane disappeared in September 1983. She was an ANC underground operative. She disappeared in the hands of the Soweto Special Branch.
